i built a 6 figure marketing agency from scratch
And when I say from scratch, I literally mean I was up every day just winging it, trying to find my rhythm.
When I started this business, I was working full-time with a four-hour commute. It's peak 2019-2020, and the internet is booming with $997 courses, workshops, and coaching galore.
I searched high and low to find someone who could help me create an agency because I knew I wanted to sell done-for-you services. But no one—and I do mean no one—was teaching how to sell DFY, let alone how to build an agency.
If they were a done-for-you provider, it was all about crafting the skill of being a copywriter or consultant. Never about the business side or how to get clients.
If they were an agency owner, it was a course on how to make money as an agency. But then it seemed fake because all of their core income came from selling education—not from actually managing an agency.
So I had to create my own systems and tools for building this business.
I created a content strategy where I could produce 30 pieces of content while sitting on the ferry ride home. I couldn't create the trendy video content since I was at work full time, so I decided to start a blog to attract leads with SEO.
I would spend hours in Airtable and ClickUp, teaching myself how to build systems so I could seamlessly onboard clients while I was at work.
I had to find out the hard way—details I should have included in my contracts, how to set client expectations around deliverables, all of it.
I've served 30+ clients, have hired and trained several team members and helped clients generate over $500K in sales. But the road to get here wasn't easy. My hope is that Consulting On Demand becomes the space where you don't have to go through some of the struggles I had. You get the shortcut to building an online presence and attracting clients through content. I'm so freaking excited to have you here!
