When I started my business, I did what most people do.
I looked at my peers for cues—what they were charging, how they were marketing, what seemed to be working. I joined the programs. Sat in the Zoom rooms. Took notes on frameworks that sounded good but never quite fit.
I kept thinking, “Maybe if I just work a little harder… invest a little more… show up a little differently…”
But no matter how many times I “did it right,” I still felt like I was the one putting the pieces together. It didn't matter if I was in 1:1 mentorship or in a group program I always felt like it was still all on me.
I was looking for someone who could actually help me think. Not cheer me on from the sidelines. Not give me another 6-step process to follow. But really get in it with me and help me figure out how to stabilize my income and build my business.
For years, I stayed stuck in that cycle. Investing, making the moves, but still running a business that wasn’t profitable or stable.
I stopped outsourcing my brand vision and started listening to the business I had already built. Instead of going outward I went inward. What does my business need? What are my people saying they want.
I paid attention to what my clients were saying on consult calls. What they brought up at events. What they asked for in the DMs. I looked at the data that was already there...not just the numbers, but the moments of resonance.
I stopped mimicking other people’s strategies and created plans that were custom-fit to my brain, my energy, and my goals.
I built a team that could not only execute a few tasks here and there, but could think critically about my business. I brought on support that didn’t just take things off my plate but helped me see the bigger picture.
I stopped running my business the way everyone else said I should and leaned into my own way of doing things. For me, that meant sustainability, creativity, and a business model that could grow without running me into the ground.
