I will be the FIRST person to tell you that if you want to scale your business, you have to invest in your business especially if you’re a service provider! If you’re a, OBM, a VA, a brand strategist, a marketing strategist, or anything else of the sort looking for high ticket clients to invest in your services, you need to lead by example! Show your clients that you’re worth the investment by investing in yourself! Now that we’ve covered that basics of why it’s important to invest in your business, lets move on to the investments I’ve made in mine!
I’m going to break these down into three categories for y’all to make them more digestible: major investments, monthly investments, and minor or one time investments. Let’s go!
Major investments that I have made in my business include:
- Trademarking my business
- Group coaching programs
- Getting my website set up
Were the three investments worth it? I would say ABSOLUTELY. Everything that I invested in on this list gave me an amazing sense of peace. It made me feel like I was on track and had my brand together; however, the only negative is the price, because these investments really make you check your bank account!
Monthly investments that I make in my business:
- Honeybook: Client services
- Canva Pro: For designing my Pinterest and Instagram feed
- Pinterest & IG manager, because you know I don’t have time to be on social media all day
- Website domain–yes this is different from website set up!
Are these investments worth it? Again, absolutely! Honeybook, Canva pro, and a social media manager are ALL huge time savers while my website domain is a necessity.
One time, smaller investments I have made in my business:
- Contract templates
- Social media templates
- Brand brochure templates
- Service list templates
- On boarding docs
- Mini trainings and courses
Are these smaller investments worth it? I would say, they are very hit or miss! For example, legal document templates and mini trainings have been great, however, social media templates never work out the way I want them to. Fortunately, these investments aren’t as hard hitting on the bank account!
